About the Role
We seek a talented and driven Power Supply Design Engineer with 3–4 years of experience in DC/DC converter design. You will be an integral part of our client's engineering team, working on innovative projects to design and develop high-efficiency power supply systems for diverse applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimise DC/DC power converters (buck, boost, buck-boost, etc.) for various applications.
- Perform circuit design and simulation using tools such as LTspice, PSpice, or equivalent.
- Conduct component selection, including inductors, capacitors, MOSFETs, and controllers, ensuring cost and performance balance.
- Design and implement PCB layouts with an emphasis on high efficiency, thermal management, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
- Evaluate and validate designs through prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design specifications meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.
- Support production teams in scaling designs for manufacturing.
- Stay updated on advancements in power electronics and incorporate cutting-edge technologies into designs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- 3–4 years of hands-on experience in DC/DC converter design and development.
- Proficiency in power circuit design and simulation tools (e.g., LTspice, PSpice).
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
- Experience with PCB design software (e.g., Altium, KiCAD, Eagle).
- Knowledge of thermal management techniques and EMI/EMC compliance.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and electronic loads.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to wide bandgap semiconductors (e.g., SiC, GaN).
- Knowledge of power management ICs (PMICs) and control algorithms.
- Familiarity with automotive, aerospace, or industrial standards (e.g., ISO 26262, DO-160).
