Senior Power IC Design Engineer

Location: Copenhagen Denmark

Ampere Recruitment is working with a DeepTech semiconductor business based in the Copenhagen area that is looking to appoint a Senior Power IC Design Engineer. This is an opportunity to join a highly innovative engineering team developing next-generation integrated power solutions for a broad range of applications.

The role offers hands-on technical influence, exposure to state-of-the-art IC and power electronics technology, and the chance to contribute at a senior level within a collaborative, fast-moving environment.

The Role

As a Senior Power IC Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of advanced power converter ICs. You will be involved across the full design lifecycle, working closely with experts in power electronics, IC design, and semiconductor process development.

This position suits an experienced engineer who enjoys combining deep technical work with technical leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership within IC development projects

  • Design integrated power converters, including associated telemetry circuits

  • Develop analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks

  • Perform circuit simulation and verification at transistor and system level

  • Drive and support IC layout activities

  • Contribute to silicon validation, characterisation, and bring-up activities

Required Experience & Background

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience in IC or power electronics design

  • Strong hands-on experience designing analog circuits, such as:

    • High-speed comparators

    • Amplifiers

    • Current and temperature sensors

    • Bandgap references

  • Solid background in power converter architectures, including:

    • Linear regulators

    • Switched-inductor DC-DC converters

    • Switched-capacitor DC-DC converters

  • Experience designing power devices, gate drivers, bootstrap circuits, and level shifters

  • Previous responsibility as a technical or project lead on IC programmes

  • Practical experience with power management ICs (PMICs)

  • Familiarity with IC design tools such as Cadence (preferred), Synopsys, or Mentor Graphics

Desirable (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with digital interfaces (UART, I²C, I3C, SPI)

  • Exposure to PCB design, assembly, and experimental validation

  • Comfortable working in multidisciplinary engineering teams

  • Creative, curious, and technically driven

  • Strong communication skills, including idea sharing and technical presentation

  • Able to manage priorities effectively in a dynamic environment
