Job Description

Senior Power Electronics Application Engineer

Location: Denmark
Represented Exclusively by Ampere Recruitment

Ampere Recruitment is partnering with a groundbreaking technology client at the forefront of power delivery, and we are now supporting them in hiring a Senior Power Electronics Application Engineer to join their expanding engineering organisation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced power electronics professional to play a leading role in reference design development, technical customer support, and system-level engineering for next-generation power solutions.

If you enjoy working closely with cross-functional teams, tackling complex design challenges, and driving innovation in high-performance systems, this role offers a highly engaging and rewarding environment.

The Role

As the Senior Power Electronics Application Engineer, you will act as a technical leader within the organisation—supporting customers, developing reference designs, creating application documentation, and delivering system-level simulations that help shape the company’s future product line.

You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with IC design, product engineering, validation, and project management teams, ensuring products meet the performance, reliability, and quality expectations required for world-class power solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level technical application support and product training to customers and field application engineers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (IC design, applications, product engineering, test, validation, project management) to develop:

    • Reference designs
    • Application notes
    • Datasheets
    • Evaluation kit documentation

  • Lead system-level behavioural modelling and simulations to validate architectures and performance targets.
  • Work closely with test engineers to establish robust test and validation plans for PMIC and power management solutions.
  • Perform hands-on laboratory testing and generate detailed application engineering reports.
  • Stay current with industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies in power and thermal management.
  • Represent the business at conferences, trade shows, and customer events.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in analogue circuit design and power converter technologies (DC-DC, linear regulators, etc.).
  • Practical experience in PCB design and an understanding of PCB assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of high-current point-of-load converters (advantageous).
  • Strong understanding of control systems and EMC principles.
  • Experience with digital communication interfaces such as UART, I2C, I3C, or SPI (nice to have).

Personal Attributes

  • Clear, effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a structured, analytical approach.
  • Adaptable and resilient, able to thrive in a fast-moving, high-growth engineering environment.
