About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Power Supply Design Engineer to join our clients engineering team, contributing to the design and development of high-efficiency DC/DC and AC/DC converters for a new generation of battery chargers. These products are critical to our clients portfolio of industrial equipment and warehouse automation solutions, where performance, reliability, and ruggedness are paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop DC/DC and AC/DC power conversion circuits for battery charger systems ranging from low to high power.
- Conduct full lifecycle development from initial concept and simulation through to prototyping, testing, and production.
- Select and validate components suitable for industrial-grade operation including magnetics, power semiconductors (e.g., IGBTs, SiC, GaN), and control ICs.
- Work closely with firmware, mechanical, and systems engineering teams to ensure seamless integration within larger automation platforms.
- Perform thermal, EMI/EMC, and safety compliance evaluations, including support for global standards such as IEC/UL 60950, 62368, or 61010.
- Support root-cause analysis and troubleshooting for design validation and customer feedback.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test plans, and design reports.
Required Experience:
- Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in the design of DC/DC and AC/DC converters (topologies such as flyback, forward, LLC, PFC, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with battery charging circuits and power supply systems.
- Strong knowledge of switching power electronics, magnetics, and thermal management.
- Familiarity with simulation and design tools such as LTspice, PLECS, Altium, or OrCAD.
- Understanding of industrial environments and safety/reliability considerations.
- Experience with EMC compliance and mitigation techniques.
