Job Description: Junior Power Supply Design Engineer (DC/DC Converter Design)

About the Role:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Power Supply Design Engineer to join our clients growing team. The successful candidate will focus on the design and development of DC/DC converters for a variety of applications, contributing to innovative and high-performance power supply solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an engineer with 1–2 years of experience to build a rewarding career in power electronics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop DC/DC power converters, including topology selection, circuit design, and component selection.
- Perform simulations and analysis of power supply circuits using tools such as SPICE or MATLAB.
- Create and test prototypes to validate design performance against specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Support PCB layout design to ensure minimal noise, efficient thermal management, and optimal performance.
- Conduct product testing, debugging, and failure analysis to improve reliability and functionality.
- Assist in the preparation of technical documentation, including design reports, test plans, and user manuals.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in power electronics technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge of power electronics principles, particularly in DC/DC converter design.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power analyzers.
- Proficiency in circuit simulation tools (e.g., LTspice, PSpice, or equivalent).
- Basic understanding of magnetics, thermal design, and power semiconductors (e.g., MOSFETs, IGBTs).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with various DC/DC converter topologies, such as buck, boost, or flyback.
- Experience with EMI/EMC compliance testing and mitigation techniques.
- Knowledge of microcontroller-based control for power converters.
