About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SiC Power Modules Engineer to join our client’s R&D and engineering team in Munich. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of silicon carbide (SiC) power modules used in demanding industrial, automotive, and renewable energy applications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-performance SiC power modules (e.g., half-bridge, full-bridge, multi-phase) from concept through to production
- Define and simulate electrical, thermal, and mechanical characteristics of power modules using relevant tools (e.g., SPICE, ANSYS, FEM)
- Collaborate closely with packaging, materials, and reliability teams to optimize module layout, thermal management, and manufacturability
- Work with PCB/layout engineers to ensure optimal integration of modules into end applications
- Perform electrical and thermal testing, qualification, and failure analysis
- Support customers with application-specific integration and technical problem solving
- Contribute to continuous improvement in module design, testing processes, and quality standards
Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field
- Strong experience in power semiconductor module design, particularly with SiC technology
- Deep understanding of power topologies (DC/DC, DC/AC, AC/DC) and related packaging challenges
- Familiarity with gate drive design, switching behaviour, parasitics, and EMI considerations
- Proficiency with simulation and design tools (e.g., LTspice, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS)
- Hands-on lab and test experience including oscilloscope measurements, switching tests, and thermal characterisation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach
- Fluent in English (German is a plus)
